Broota makes a thematic shift juxtaposing man with industrial objects and architectural fragments, articulating the friction of the vulnerable human flesh.

“In Absorbed (2001) the composition reconfigures an abstracted compact image of bodies with the sensuality of flesh rendered very close to the frame. The intimate moment is flustered by a steely object pressing onto the naked body. The attention to male vulnerability takes on massive proportions with a growing insecurity of the body as impermanent, its touch and its external beauty susceptible to change and mutilation.

Besides the process-oriented nature of Broota’s work, another equally important feature of his works is the ‘framing’ of his large scale compositions. There is nothing that is arbitrary on excessive in Broota’s works. In his strategies of composing, chance encounters are dispelled for more organized and choreographed ones.”
